Kerkini lake is an important hydrobiotope, globaly renowned. Hunting is forbbiden. More then 300 species of birds populate this place. There are gest rooms and taverns in the small village by the lake. Approximately 10km from Kerkini, in the valley of mount Beles, picturesque villages of Upper and Lower Poroia(Ano Poroia, Kato Poroia) are situated. The beauty of the landscape, splendor of the mountain , the plenty of crystal clear water, enormous shady plane-threes, densely wooded slopes, pleasant and healthy climate will win over any visitor , who just realized that he discovered an ideal place to stay in surronding area. There are , also, dining and recreation places, organized hotels and gest rooms where one can stay.
